Analog Records
Got questions? We've got answers! Here are the most common things people ask us about joining the Sheridan College Record Swap Club.
Nope! While bringing records to swap is encouraged, it's absolutely not required, especially when you're first starting out. Many members join to learn about vinyl culture, discover new music, and gradually build their collections. Come to a few meetings, see what people are trading, figure out what you like, and then start bringing records when you're ready.
Everything! Our members have wildly diverse tastes—rock, hip-hop, jazz, electronic, classical, indie, country, soul, punk, you name it. That's part of what makes swaps so exciting. You might come in looking for classic rock and leave with an Afrobeat album that changes your life.
Our swaps are casual and friendly! Bring records you're willing to trade, browse what others have brought, and when you find something you like, just chat with that person about making a trade. Most swaps are one-for-one, but members often work out deals based on rarity, condition, or personal preference. There's no pressure—if you don't find anything you want to trade for, that's totally fine!
Real talk: most records aren't perfect, and that's okay! We welcome records in all conditions, from mint to well-loved. Just be honest about any issues like scratches, skips, or worn covers when you're trading. Some people specifically collect "player copies" that might not be pristine but still sound great.
